Marcela Prieto Botero
CEO - Vision Americas International

Marcela is a Colombian political scientist with more than 25 years of experience in the design of public policies and strategic communications. She has an extensive professional background, having served as the General Director of Foros Semana at Semana Magazine, a publication well-regarded for its influential political and economic analyses in Colombia.

 

Marcela has also held the position of Executive Director at the Institute of Political Science - Hernán Echavarría Olózaga - in Bogotá, one of the most influential policy-oriented think tanks in the country. Throughout her career, Marcela has worked as an advisor and campaign manager for various candidates, both at local and national levels.

 

She has also gained international experience as a consultant for Oxford Analytica (UK). Marcela has developed a strong network, allowing her to build professional relationships with individuals in Washington and across the Americas, including political leaders, civil society representatives, and business sector professionals.

- During her period, ICP was first recognized as one of the 10 Top Think Tanks Worldwide in the Latin American category in the index carried out by the University of Pennsylvania called “Global Go to Think Tank.”


- Academic Advisor at the Fundación Internacional para la Libertad - FIL (Spain), an institution founded and led by the Nobel Prize in Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa, along with other intellectuals and business leaders from all countries of Ibero-America.


-Senior Advisor for “The Dialogue Foundation.” The Foundation gathers renowned experts worldwide, helping people and organizations overcome disagreements and resolve disputes.


-Member of the Advisory Council for Latin America and the Caribbean at the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Washington, D.C. 


-    Co-founder of Women in Connection (WICC). An organization that seeks to advance gender equality policies in the workplace, the empowerment of women, and the materialization of opportunities for women.
