Thelma Sequeira has Bachelors degree in International Relations from Harvard University, and a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern. She is the founder of Sequeira/Sequeira Business Consulting, a Central American firm focusing on international marketing strategy development, as well as on advising corporations to increase foreign direct investment in the Latin American region, and expand trade and commerce between the US and Central America.
Ms. Sequeira has a management consulting background and has been involved in capacity building and business enabling projects for private and public sector organizations in the Latin American region, including multinationals and government institutions. She worked for KPMG Consulting (now Bearing Point), as a consultant in business process improvement projects, and led organizational change management initiatives. She worked for Ernst & Young, helping to frame the marketing and communications strategies for the Central American region, and acted as a liaison between Dole Food Company’s shared services organization in Costa Rica and the client base, servicing more than 10,000 employees. She was responsible for helping to develop and promote new information technology services, negotiated services agreements, oversaw services deployment, and was responsible in helping to integrate "best practices" in the organization. She led the change management initiative and developed, as well as implemented, the marketing and communications strategies for E&Y.
Ms. Sequeira has also been a promoter of nurturing public/private sector partnerships to achieve greater development in the region. She was a guest speaker at the "Building Corporate Alliances and Partnerships" Conference at the United Nations Mandated University of Peace, and at the Conference on "The Future of US Relations and CAFTA-DR", organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Honduras and Salvador.
